My Clients Say

"A friend recommended Jewels and we haven’t been disappointed! Jewels has transformed Ralph’s appearance, on his first appointment he had a huge amount of unruly coat. She has shaped and trimmed him and given shape and character to his face. What is more he seems happier without the weight of the thick coat. Jewels is a very kind person and Ralph skips in eagerly to greet her at each appointment. Thank you Jewels."
Kathryn Hoffman

" Jewels has such a lovely way with dogs. Teddy is a really nervous dog but is always happy to arrive and see Jewels and get a fuss. He always comes out looking and smelling divine and Jewels always takes time to make sure his cut is exactly as we want, shorter in summer and longer in winter. Highly recommended."

Katherine Mowbray

"Took my puppy Freddie for his first appointment with Jewels, he loved it and loved Jewels too!
He’s already looking forward to his next appointment in 2 weeks.
Jewels is very patient and also caters for personal needs of dog and human parent, so pleased we found her!"

Becky Gibson

"100% recommend this place! Jewels was very professional and welcoming and Milo came back a very happy boy."

Chantelle Pryme

"Jewels is very professional and providing a fantastic service. She is so calm with dogs and humans! My puppy was wagging his tail at her and fell asleep straight after his pampering session. Jewels is very knowledgeable and gives advice way above just grooming. I won’t go anywhere else. Thank you so much Jewels."
Torsten Stumpf

"My dog has been groomed by Jewels for the past 5 years and always comes out with a beautiful, neat groom and smelling fantastic. I love that Jewels uses natural products and always checks with me on the length of the cut and the health of my dog on arrival. The studio has a calm and relaxed atmosphere and Jewels provides a one to one, bespoke, professional service."

Hydrobath Pro

A hydro bath is a type of bathing system that uses a combination of water, shampoo, and air pressure to clean and condition a dog's coat. It is a more effective and efficient way to bathe a dog than traditional methods, and it has several advantages.
  • Deeper cleaning: The high-pressure water stream can penetrate deep into the coat, removing dirt, dust, and other debris that might be trapped there. This is especially beneficial for dogs with thick or long coats.
  • More effective shampooing: The water pressure helps to distribute the shampoo evenly throughout the coat, ensuring that it is thoroughly cleaned. This can help to prevent skin and coat problems.
  • Less stressful for dogs: The hydro bath is a more gentle bathing method than traditional methods, which can be stressful for some dogs. The water pressure is adjustable, so you can find a setting that is comfortable for your dog.
  • Quicker bathing: The hydro bath drastically reduces bathing time which is particularly beneficial for elderly, infirm and nervous pets.
  • More hygienic: The hydro bath uses a recirculation system, which means that the water is constantly being filtered and cleaned. This helps to prevent the spread of bacteria and other germs.
  • Environmentally friendly: The filtered recirculation system saves energy by reducing water and power consumption.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full dog groom take?

It is normal for a full groom to take up to 2 hours, dependent on the size of the dog, its coat type and the styling required. A large breed can take up to 3 hours. We will be able to discuss this over the phone or if you prefer at a meet and greet appointment at the studio.

We have a new puppy, when should grooming start?

It is important for your dogs health that all inoculations have been completed. Proof of vaccination will be required at the first visit. As with everything new to them, the younger and earlier a puppy is gently introduced to new sights, sounds and smells the more confident they become, resulting in a much better grooming experience for them. Our Puppy Introduction service offers a completely free introductory visit. Your puppy is initially introduced to the salon and myself, allowed a good sniff about, introduced to the grooming table, and some of the equipment, such as the sound of the dryer and vibrations of the clippers. They get a gentle fun brush, lots of cuddles and (with your permission)a treat.

Can you groom my dog if she is in season?

Unless it’s absolutely necessary, then you should refrain yourself from bringing your dog to the grooming studio if she is in season. Whilst a bitch is in season she will be more sensitive and can become very stressed. To bring her to the groomers, would cause extra stress levels for her when she is already in a hormonal state.

Do you empty anal glands?

The expressing of anal glands is classed as an invasive procedure, and should only be done by a veterinarian.

Should I walk my dog before their grooming session?

I always recommend that dogs are given a little walk before they arrive at the studio, so that they can relieve themselves and expel any excess energy. However I would not recommend a long walk as this may result in them being too tired to stand up and tolerate a full groom.

My dog has been speyed/neutered can they attend a grooming session?

I would recommend that dogs are allowed to recover fully before they are groomed. This is normally a little longer for girls but on average around 3 weeks after the operation. If unsure consult with your veterinarian.

My dog has sensitive skin can they still be groomed?

Yes I will always take the pets health into account, and have hypoallergenic shampoo available for dogs with skin conditions. Please advise when you call if your dog requires any special treatment. Alternatively they can bring their own shampoo with them.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients who do not cancel at least 24hrs before their appointment will be charged 50% of the service price. Clients who fail to show up for an appointment without notice will be charged 100%. Thank you for your understanding.
